Mounted Points

Attach these abrasive-coated tools to die grinders or straight shaft grinders for deburring applications. Similar to burs, mounted points come in various shapes and sizes but produce smaller chips than burs, so they are more resistant to build up. Choose lower grit numbers for an even, smooth finish, and higher grit numbers for a fine, polished finish.

Taper

Ideal for narrow slots and countersunk holes, these tapered mounted points have a round tapered shape. They also fit well into other narrow or tapered openings, such as gear teeth and beveled edges.

Cylinder

The abrasive straight sides and flat end of these cylinder-shaped mounted points debur and finish flat-bottomed slots and holes. The cylindrical sides also remove material on contoured as well as flat surfaces. Cylinder is the most commonly used mounted point shape.

Ball

Debur and finish contoured surfaces and round openings. These ball-shaped mounted points are also sometimes used to enlarge holes and shape bevels and other concave surfaces.

Cone

Smooth material around countersunk and counterbored holes, as well as beveled and chamfered surfaces. The straight tapered sides on these cone-shaped mounted points are used for beveled and chamfered surfaces, while the short cutting area lets you maneuver into counterbored holes.

Inverted Cone

The upside-down cone shape fits perfectly into dovetailed and inverted slots and holes. Use these inverted cone-shaped mounted points for deburring and finishing.

Match Head

Resembling a match head or cotton swab, these mounted points have a wide round shape that deburs and finishes long round holes and slots. They can also be used on other contoured surfaces.

Pointed Cone

The pointed end of these cones fit into pointed-bottom slots and countersunk holes. The tapered body shape also fits nicely into narrow or tapered openings, such as gear teeth and beveled edges.

Tapered Cylinder

Get into deep or hard-to-reach countersunk holes with these long, straight-sided mounting points. The straight sides of the cylinder can also be used to remove material on a wide variety of contoured and flat surfaces.

Wheel

These mounted points have a wide, flat tip with a short tapered body for finishing and deburring wide and shallow counterbored holes. The wheel shape is also suitable for use on angled and flat surfaces.
