Create a threaded hole in thermoplastic materials with these heat-set inserts. To install, use an ultrasonic horn, heat driver, or soldering iron to melt the insert into the thermoplastic. As the plastic cools, it solidifies around the insert to hold it in place.
Install straight shank inserts in a straight hole. They are more resistant to pull out than tapered shank inserts.
The tapered shank of these inserts reduces installation time and ensures proper alignment. They are commonly used to speed assembly on production lines.
