Ensure you have the equipment you need to deal with fires by choosing a pump designed to spray fluid at high pressures and over long distances, or by choosing a floating pump that can utilize a water source near the fire to douse the flames.
Get higher pressure outputs than most portable pumps due to the twin impeller design to spray fluid long distances. The pumps include a 3-way discharge port that allows the hookup of multiple hoses, a self-priming port, and a sensor that detects low oil and prevents the pump from turning on. They are commonly used in light duty jobs in firefighting, but can also be used in irrigation, water transfer, and boom spraying.

Use existing and naturally occurring water sources such as streams, ponds, swimming pools, and other pooled water as shallow as 4" to spray water by floating these pumps on the water's surface. They are able to pump a high volume of water under moderate pressure, and have built-in carrying handles to ease moving them to the water source. These pumps are a low-cost alternative to fire protection, and are commonly used on farms and other areas with ample water availability.
