Thread Mills

Cut internal and external threads into an existing hole using these thread mills, which use helical interpolation to cut the threads. A single thread mill can thread a wide range of hole diameters, eliminating the need to change tools when threading multiple holes in different sizes. The mill starts cutting at the bottom of the hole and cuts as it spirals up and around the hole wall. Multiple teeth along the surface of the thread mill engage the entire hole wall for accurate milling of difficult materials such as stainless steel or Inconel. These tools are only usable in CNC machines that have helical interpolation capability.

Straight Flute for Internal Threads

These thread mills have straight flutes that can cut threads of more than one pitch.

Spiral Flute for Internal & External Threads

Use these spiral flute thread mills for creating threads with the same pitch in holes with different diameters. Spiral flutes lift and carry the chips away from the tip of the tool as the thread mill removes material from the workpiece.

Single Flute for Internal & External Threads

Single-flute thread mills provide good chip evacuation, which helps keep the bit from overheating and extends tool life. These end mills produce clean cuts.
