Black Pipe Nipples

Black Pipe Nipples

Durable black steel pipe nipples add a small amount of length to your pipe system (typically 12" or less) when connecting pipe to a fitting or another pipe. Black steel is for use in low-pressure pipe systems where you need the strength of steel but where corrosion is not a concern, such as when transporting natural gas and oil. This steel isn't coated (like galvanized pipe), so there's less concern about pipe clogs since there's no coating that can flake off. These nipples can also be used in systems carrying air and water.

Close (Fully Threaded)

Make a joint between pipe or fittings in a tight space with these close nipples. Their exterior is entirely threaded, giving the pipe a smooth, uninterrupted look at the connection point and adding little-to-no length to your pipe. Use to connect female-threaded pipe ends or fittings.

Threaded

Also known as barrel nipples, these threaded pipe nipples have a middle surface that is unthreaded, making them a good choice for adding small lengths of pipe to your system. They're typically used when you need to add a fitting to your pipe at a specific spot. They have two male-threaded ends to connect female pipe or fittings.

Threaded on One End

Also known as TOE (threaded one end) nipples, half pipe nipples, or welding nipples, these nipples have a male thread on one end and are unthreaded on the other. They are often used as the joint between a female-threaded fitting and an unthreaded pipe.

Unthreaded

Add your own threads to unthreaded pipe nipples so you can use them with pipe or fittings that have different thread types. Unthreaded pipe nipples can also be welded for a permanent connection, which is ideal in systems that require a leak-resistant seal but don't require frequent maintenance.

Sets

Ensure you have the right pipe nipple for the job with these sets, which include a range of nipple sizes and lengths for pipe installation and maintenance.
