Chain Flexible Shaft Couplings

Chain Flexible Shaft Couplings

Provide a strong but flexible connection between two shafts using chain flexible couplings. A complete coupling consists of two hubs with sprocket teeth and a single double-wide roller chain that joins the hubs. The clearance between the chain links and the sprocket teeth allows the coupling to flex to accommodate angular misalignment (shafts are set at an angle to each other) between shafts and also helps dissipate heat and protect the shaft bearings from damage due to abrasion.

In applications where the chain has been greased and is rotating at high speeds, a cover can be added over the chain and hubs to help keep lubrication inside the coupling. Chain flexible couplings are used in a range of continuous-motion applications with low to moderate torque and speeds, including farming equipment and ceiling fans.

Chain Coupling Hubs

Connect two of these hubs with a compatible double-wide roller chain to create a chain flexible coupling for your application.

Chain Coupling Covers

Add a cover to your chain flexible coupling to keep lubricants from spraying off the chain in high-speed applications and to prevent dirt, moisture, and other contaminants from getting inside the coupling.
