Disc Flexible Shaft Couplings

Disc Flexible Shaft Couplings

Two thin metal disc packs in the center of these disc shaft couplings flex to accommodate misalignment between two shafts that are connected by the coupling. The couplings have two hubs that connect to the shafts, and the disc packs flex and move independently of each other, allowing double-disc couplings to withstand angular misalignment (shafts are set at an angle to each other), parallel misalignment (shafts are misaligned but parallel), or axial misalignment (shafts are pulled apart or pushed together) between the two shafts.

Disc flexible couplings allow zero backlash (or play), do not require lubrication, and are well suited for high-speed applications. They are commonly used in servomotors and in systems that require precise positioning, such as equipment in the printing, solar energy, and semiconductor industries.

Standard Flush Mount

These disc flexible couplings sit flush with mounted parts for close-coupling applications where space is limited.

Stepped Mount

The hubs on these disc flexible couplings provide some space between the mounted components and the coupling.
