Aluminum Rods
Aluminum is corrosion resistant and, ounce-for-ounce, provides more strength than other metals.
Alloy 1100
Over 99% aluminum, 1100 aluminum is lightweight and has very high conductivity and corrosion resistance compared to other alloys, but it is not as strong. It is commonly used on equipment that is exposed to chemicals.
ASTM B221, Extruded, Unpolished Finish
Alloy 6061
Offering a good combination of corrosion resistance, machinability, and weldability, 6061 aluminum is the most commonly used aluminum alloy for plumbing, construction, and automotive applications. While it has good strength, 6061 aluminum is not as strong as other aluminum alloy grades.
ASTM B211, Extruded, Unpolished Finish
ASTM B221, Extruded, Unpolished Finish
Alloy 6063
Also called architectural aluminum, 6063 aluminum typically has a smoother surface finish than 6061 aluminum but less strength, making it useful for decorative purposes and trim. It is corrosion resistant.
ASTM B221, T52 Temper, Unpolished Finish
Alloy 7075
Also known as an aircraft grade aluminum, 7075 aluminum is stronger than 2024 aluminum but has lower corrosion resistance. It is often painted or clad for additional corrosion resistance.
