High Visibility Vests

High Visibility Vests

Lightweight and easy to put on, these vests are a common choice for increasing your visibility to others in the work environment. They cover your core without adding a layer of bulk that can inhibit movement of your arms and torso. Typically, they are worn over a shirt, and either slip over your head or have a front closure with a zipper, snaps, or hook-and-loop, or other fastener.

ANSI Class 3

Get visibility in complex backgrounds while maintaining a full range of body movement by wearing vests that meet ANSI standards for Class 3 high-visibility clothing. They have a greater amount of high-visibility material than Class 1 and 2 garments, and can be used in roadway (Type R) or public safety (Type P) environments, depending on how much high-visibility material they have. Examples of Type R environments are: roadway construction sites, parking and toll gate operations, crosswalks, towing operations, and airport baggage handling and ground crew areas. Type P apparel is typically worn by law enforcement and emergency response personnel, firefighters, and accident site investigators.

ANSI Class 2

For workers exposed to roadway rights-of-way and temporary traffic control (TTC) zones, these vests offer the minimum level of protection for meeting ANSI Class 2 standards for high-visibility clothing. They have more high-visibility material than Class 1 apparel and provide better definition of the human form. Based on the amount of high-visibility materials with which they are made, they are rated for use in either roadway (Type R) or public safety (Type P) environments. Typical uses of Type R apparel include: roadway construction workers, parking and toll gate personnel, crossing guards, towing operators, and airport baggage handlers and ground crew. Those wearing Type P garments include law enforcement and emergency response personnel, firefighters, and accident site investigators.

Slip on these vests to meet ANSI Class 1 standards for high-visibility clothing. They contain the minimum amount of high-visibility materials to differentiate the wearer from non-complex work environments. Use them in off-road (Type O) environments only for applications such as retrieving shopping carts in parking lots or working near warehouse traffic or in oil and gas extraction, refineries, and mines.
