Stick Welding Electrodes

Consumable stick welding electrodes, also called welding rods, feature a metal core that fuses with the workpiece material to create the weld and a flux coating that creates a shielding gas when heated to keep contaminants out of the weld.

Stick welders typically have fewer parts and are lighter and more portable than MIG and TIG welders. They do not require compressed gas and can be used outdoors and in windy areas. Also known as shielded metal arc welders (SMAW), manual metal arc welders (MMAW), and flux shield arc welders.
