About This Product

These Coiled Spring Pins are constructed of 420 stainless steel, which is generally a high-strength magnetic stainless steel option, but it provides less corrosion resistance than 18-8 stainless steel. They have a passivated finish, which describes stainless steel that has had surface contaminants removed to increase the natural corrosion resistance of the material. They also have a 1/4 in outside diameter and fit a minimum hole diameter of 0.247 in. They fit a maximum hole diameter of 0.256 in and have a 1 1/8 in overall length. They also have a 0.2429 in chamfer diameter. Pack of 25.

About Spring Pins

Also known as tension pins or roll pins, spring pins are hollow, cylindrical pins coiled or slit along their length so that they compress during insertion and hold in place via tension. They install in holes smaller than the pin diameter and distribute stress along the length of the pin.

Coiled pins flex to absorb shock and vibration better than slotted pins. They compress during installation for a tight fit.
