About Slotted Shims
Also called horseshoe shims, these shims have a slot that runs lengthwise down their center. They're used to fill spaces between machine components and structural parts to improve leveling and alignment and help prevent wear on moving parts.
These lightweight shims are color-coded by thickness for quick identification. Made of plastic, they're nonmagnetic and have good electrical insulating properties.
These shims have an end tab so you can grip the shim to insert and remove it without sticking your hands under machinery.
