About Fixed Socket Wrenches

Often used in the automotive industry, these non-ratcheting wrenches have one or more sockets that are permanently attached to the tool handle to provide good strength for turning a range of fasteners. They are typically easier to maintain than their ratcheting counterparts.

The inside edge of the socket may have 6, 8, or 12 points. 6-point sockets make contact with all sides of a hexagonal fastener, reducing the risk of stripping or rounding the fastener when turning it. 8-point sockets are for use with square fasteners. 12-point sockets can be repositioned with a smaller movement of the handle than a 6-point socket, which is useful when working in tight spaces.

A good all-purpose tool, these wrenches have an immovable head that provides good strength for turning a range of nuts or bolts
