About Impact-Resistant Work Gloves
Reinforced in strategic sections of the hand and fingers, these work gloves (also called rigger's gloves) protect the hand from impact. Some also offer additional resistance to cuts, punctures, heat, flame, oil, or gas.
The ANSI resistance levels for these gloves are based on the ANSI/ISEA 105-2011 standards for hand protection. The cut-resistance levels are on a scale from 1 to 5, puncture-resistance levels are from 0 to 5, and abrasion-resistance levels are from 0 to 6. The higher the rating, the better the protection.
Thick rubber padding on the thumb and forefinger protect against errant hammer swings. These gloves have palms coated with latex, which provides enhanced grip but may cause allergic reactions.
