Dampen all surrounding noise with passive, sound-insulated earmuffs that cover the ears. Use them for applications where you want to block all or most noise. Consisting of rigid cups with soft cushions that seal around the ears, earmuffs are generally easier to fit and more durable than earplugs. Their visibility helps ensure that workers are in compliance with hearing safety rules. They are convenient for environments with intermittent noise because they are easy to put on and take off.
In high noise areas, earmuffs can be worn with earplugs to improve the noise reduction rating (NRR) by 5 decibels (dB). As the NRR of earmuffs increases, they tend to get bulkier due to the larger ear cups and increased insulation materials.
Adjust the fit of these earmuffs to suit your needs. They can be positioned with the band atop the head for a secure fit, or behind the neck to accommodate a hard hat or faceshield.
