About

Similar in design to a screwdriver, nut drivers have a handle with a long shank and a socket at the end. The socket is placed onto a nut or bolt, and the handle is rotated to tighten or loosen the fastener. Nut drivers are easier to maneuver in close quarters than a standard wrench or ratchet handle. They may have efficiency-boosting features such as a hollow shank that allows a threaded rod to pass through when tightening a nut or a magnetic tip that holds nuts on the socket for easier placement. Commonly used in the electronics industry, nut drivers are suitable for applications that do not require high amounts of torque to be applied to the fastener.

The shorter, narrower shank and handle of these precision nut drivers provides better access and control than a standard nut driver—making them suitable for detailed applications with small, tightly spaced components, such as repairing and manufacturing electronics and medical equipment.
