About Two-Piece Clamp-On Rigid Shaft Couplings

Install these two-piece clamp-on rigid shaft couplings onto the ends of two shafts to join the shafts so they can move together in the same direction. Also know as double-split shaft couplings, you can install or remove these couplings without removing other parts on the shaft, which helps reduce downtime in maintenance and repair tasks.

The clamp-on design evenly distributes the gripping force around the shaft for a more secure hold than rigid sleeve couplings. Rigid shaft couplings allow minimal backlash (or play) between the shafts and are suitable for continuous-motion applications. To avoid damage to the coupling, bearing, or shafts, they should only be used in applications where there is no misalignment between the shafts. Set screws are not required to hold the coupling in place, making these couplings less likely to damage the shaft than rigid sleeve shaft couplings.
