About One-Piece Clamp-On Rigid Shaft Couplings
Slide these one-piece clamp-on rigid shaft couplings, also known as single-split shaft couplings, onto the ends of two shafts to join them so they can move together in the same direction. Rigid shaft couplings allow minimal backlash (or play) between the shafts. To avoid damage to the coupling, bearing, or shafts, they should only be used in applications where there is no misalignment between the shafts.
The clamp-on design evenly distributes the gripping force around the shafts for a more secure hold than rigid sleeve couplings. You may have to remove other components on the shaft before installing or removing these couplings. Set screws are not required to hold the coupling in place, making these couplings less likely to damage the shaft than rigid sleeve couplings. These couplings are suitable for continuous-motion applications and do not require lubrication.
